Weingut Dr. Heger Tuniberg Pinot Noir
Refreshing, smartly styled, with an intellectually stimulating depth, Weingut Dr. Heger’s Tuniberg Pinot Noir is from the Baden region’s picturesque Tuniberg hill. Here high-acid fruit meets limestone-driven energy. The wine blends fruit from steep, south-facing vineyards planted in loess and limestone soils, yielding ripe yet taut cherry and cranberry notes. With mix of whole-cluster and de-stemmed fruit for complexity and balance that sees fermentation in neutral barriques, followed by aging in stainless and older oak, the wine shows clarity with a soft spice backbeat. On the nose and palate, expect bright black cherry and blackberry framed by earthy mushroom, crushed stone, and pronounced minerality. A moderate ABV and brisk acidity keep it lively and food-friendly. The partial stem inclusion and oak profile bring a rustic, savory structure. Approachable, elegant, and anything but simple this Pinot great match for sausages, roast chicken, or lighter red-meat fare, and is an excellent introduction to the Spätburgunders of Germany.
