Villa Creek Farmhouse White
Villa Creek’s Farmhouse White is a sophisticated and terroir-driven white blend, emblematic of the dynamic viticultural landscape of Paso Robles’ westside. The 2024 vintage is composed of 62% Picpoul Blanc, 19% Pinot Gris, and 19% Falanghina, atypical varietals for the region selected for their complementary acid structures and aromatic profiles. Sourced from organically certified vineyards including the estate’s MAHA property, the grapes are cultivated under strict organic and biodynamic protocols, ensuring ecological integrity and minimal environmental impact. Vinification employs native yeast fermentation to preserve site-specific microbial terroir, utilizing a blend of concrete, stainless steel, and neutral French oak vessels. This fermentation approach, coupled with a brief élevage of four months and partial malolactic conversion, yields a wine with aromatic complexity and textural depth. Aromatics range from petrichor and yellow florals to fennel, toasted sunflower seed, white peach, and pear, integrated with a delicate creaminess. The palate follows with precise acidity, a linear brightness layered with phenolic grip, and a mineral-laced finish characterized by lemon rind and saline. Villa Creek’s Farmhouse White performs well along side a range of culinary applications, excelling with shellfish, lightly grilled vegetables, or as a standalone expression of high-elevation, cool-climate Paso Robles winemaking.
