Villa Creek Farmhouse Red

$ 30.00

A bold, expressive Rhône-style blend from Paso Robles, certified organic by CCOF and crafted with native fermentation and minimal new oak.

Region: Paso Robles, California

Blend: 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah

Organic Harvest: August 29 – September 21, 2023

Vinification: Native fermented in a mix of concrete and stainless steel with 10% whole cluster. Individual lots are pressed based on taste and aged in a selection of new (5%) and neutral 225- and 500-liter barrels for 18 months.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of dark cherry and dried game mingle with pain d'épice, cranberry jam, and saffron, layered with wild boar, violet, and caramelized red onion. The palate is rich and bold—a kaleidoscope of mountain berry compote and fresh purple fig—balanced by ample freshness and grippy tannins. Long, hedonistic, and not a shy wine. Oak impression is slight.

Pairing: Grilled and roasted meats, hearty stews, barbecue, and aged cheeses.
