Terre di Giotto Gattaia Bianco
Terre di Giotto’s Gattaia Bianco is a single-varietal Chenin Blanc produced by biodynamic pioneer Michele Lorenzetti in the high-altitude Mugello hills north of Florence. Sourced from vines planted around 700 m on clay‑limestone‑sandstone soils, it undergoes a 48‑hour skin maceration, followed by two years of aging in concrete vats, and an additional year in bottle before release. The result is a beautifully textured, mineral forward white wine with a straw‑gold hue, expressive aromas of marine salt, pineapple, citrus, white flowers, and a flinty herbaceous core, evolving in the glass to hints of marzipan and grilled persimmon over a backdrop of lavender and grapefruit peel . On the palate, it delivers a seamless blend of racy acidity, chalky tension, and depth driven by the almost saline minerality and layered fruit flavors. Tropical and balanced, it’s a compelling example of natural‑wine precision, simultaneously rich and lithe, and the perfect partner to a bountiful tower of fruits de mer.
