Costa do Sol Vinho Verde

$ 14.00

Costa do Sol is classic Vinho Verde, from Portugal’s famed northwest wine-making region of the same name, where cool Atlantic breezes and granitic soils give rise to wines of notable freshness and verve. This cuvée typically blends regional white varieties like Loureiro, Arinto, and Trajadura; grapes that are prized for their aromatic lift and natural acidity. The wine is fermented in stainless steel at cool temperatures to preserve its bright fruit character and is bottled early to retain a gentle pétillance, the hallmark of traditional Vinho Verde. Aromatically, it opens with lemon peel, white peach, and honeysuckle, underpinned by a marine salinity and hints of crushed herbs. On the palate it’s light-bodied with crisp green apple, lime zest, and a faintly chalky texture that adds subtle depth. The finish is mouthwatering and clean, with a slightly effervescent zip that refreshes and enlivens. With its low alcohol content typically around 9.5–10.5%, Costa do Sol is a quintessential aperitif wine (and excellent foil to the hot summer sun) but also pairs beautifully with oysters, grilled sardines, ceviche, or light Vietnamese dishes.
