

Commanderie de la Bargemone Rosé
Bargemone is among the foremost estates of the Coteaux d’Aix appellation of Provence. A benchmark producer of the delicious, dry rosé for which Provence is famous, the Commanderie was founded by Templar knights in the 13th century, and is home toproud viticultural tradition and more than 160 acres of organically grown vineyards.
Vineyards: 163 acres under vine, with 138 acres red varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Counoise) and 25 acres white varieties (Sauvignon Blanc and Rolle (Vermentino)). Stony, clay/limestone soils.
Appellation: AOP Coteaux d’Aix en Provence.
Composition: 40% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Caladoc, 4% Counoise
Viticulture: Made with Organic Grapes, certified Qualisud. Vines average 20+ years in age. 2022 was a long, protracted harvest, begining August 20th with the first Sauvignon Blancs and ending Sept 20th with the last bits of Counoise.
Winemaking: Grape varieties are night harvested by vineyard parcel and are vinified separately in small capacity, stainless steel tanks. Direct pressed, with no maceration. Cold settled for 5 days, then fermented for 10 days at 61°F. No malolactic conversion. Vinified entirely in stainless steel tanks.
Abv: 13%
Tasting Notes: Offers classic aromas of wild strawberries and red currants, with a light, floral character and a crisp, bone-dry palate.
Serve With: A rosé of reference, to be enjoyed year-round on its own or with a wide range of lighter fare and Provence-inspired cuisine.
