Andre Neveu Le Grand Fricambault Sancerre Rose

$ 40.00

André Neveu’s Le Grand Fricambault Sancerre Rosé is a vibrant, terroir-driven expression of Pinot Noir from the flinty silex slopes on the eastern edge of the appellation. This distinctive soil not only gives the wine its name, Fricambault being a historic lieu-dit, but also imparts the hallmark tension, precision, and subtle smokiness that make it so engaging. Made by the saignée method and aged entirely in stainless steel to preserve purity, it glows in the glass with a vivid redcurrant-pink hue touched by copper highlights. The nose is lively and layered, opening with fresh-picked strawberry, redcurrant, and white peach, lifted by cool herbal tones of mint and fennel, and underpinned by a faint whiff of wet flint. The palate is sleek and refreshing, yet rounded enough to feel generous, carrying bright berry fruit over a spine of saline minerality. A gentle tannic frame gives shape, while the finish lingers with delicate peppery spice, thyme, and that subtle pierre à fusil smokiness unique to silex terroir. It’s the kind of rosé that’s as refreshing on its own as it is versatile at the table; perfect with goat cheese salads, grilled salmon, herb-marinated chicken, or even sushi.
