Château L’Ermite d’Auzan Sainte-Cécile Blanc

$ 24.00

Château L’Ermite d’Auzan Sainte-Cécile Blanc is a meticulously crafted white wine from the Costières de Nîmes AOP in the southern Rhône Valley, blending 70% Roussanne, 20% Viognier, and 10% Grenache Blanc. The estate's vineyards are situated on sun-drenched, south-facing slopes composed of rolled pebbles from the Durance River, which contribute to the wine's distinctive minerality. With an average vine age of 30 years and a low yield of 42 hl/ha, the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness and quality. Fermentation occurs in 400-liter French oak barrels at controlled temperatures, followed by three months of lees stirring to enhance texture and complexity. In the glass, the wine presents a pale golden hue and offers aromas of white peach, almond blossom, honey, and floral pollen, leading to subtle pastry notes. On the palate, it is rich and well-balanced, with a harmonious blend of freshness from the Roussanne and the body from the Grenache Blanc, supported by a clean, persistent finish. This wine is enjoyable now and has the potential to age gracefully over the next 5+ years. It pairs beautifully with seafood, white meats in creamy sauces, truffle omelets, or as an elegant aperitif. Château L’Ermite d’Auzan is committed to sustainable viticulture, with practices that protect biodiversity and respect natural cycles, avoiding the use of synthetic chemicals and GMOs.
